My name is Dermot Butterly aka Gandhi Rollingstone.  I just finished a Peace Walk from Los Angeles to Washington D.C.  This page is dedicated to the life of Mahatma Gandhi and the many others working daily for peace in the World and within themselves.  Enjoy the blogs.  I hope they will inspire you to look within for your own Peace.

                               MY STORY (The short version)

 I was born in Ireland to a family of four sisters and two brothers.  All of whom I love dearly.  Grew up (well i'm still working on that part) in a small town just outside of Dublin.  Left Ireland when I was nineteen moved to Germany.  Im not sure why I did that but ah well, you live and learn.  Moved to America ten years ago seeking fame and fortune and the American dream.  Landed in L.A in 2000 thinking I would make it in the acting world because I had an accent and lots of hair.   Then I had a very unusual spiritual experience in 2002 and that my dear reader started me down or maybe it's up the road to everything from yoga to meditation to studying at a monastery and driving myself bonkers and trying to change my entire family to becoming more spiritual. By the way don't try that,  it doesn't  work.  I have found that the best way to inspire others is thru the clarity of my own example. So here I am eight years later crossing America dressed as Mahatma Gandhi walking for peace.  Life is funny like that.  Enjoy my stories,  check out our website www.gandhipeacwalk.org  if you feel to.
