Walking through Arkansas

My name is Dermot Butterly aka Gandhi Rollingstone.  I am currently on a Peace Walk from L.A to Washington D.C.  This site is dedicated to informing you of all my many outrageous and sometimes hard to believe adventures, experiences, challenges and insights, while on the road to D.C.  I will update my blog every two or three days.  My intention for the walk is to learn what peace means to me and how i can inspire others to look inside so we do not create more wars outside.   We will be doing peacewalks all across America along with showing Gandhi the movie at prisons, talking to schools, concerts and interviewing local political and spiritual leaders all in the name of PEACE.

                            

                               MY STORY (The short version)

 I was born in Ireland to a family of four sisters and two brothers.  All of whom I love dearly.  Grew up (well i'm still working on that part) in a small town just outside of Dublin.  Left Ireland when I was nineteen moved to Germany.  Im not sure why I did that but ah well, you live and learn.  Moved to America ten years ago seeking fame and fortune and the American dream.  Landed in L.A in 2000 thinking I would make it in the acting world because I had an accent and lots of hair.   Then I had a very unusual spiritual experience in 2002 and that my dear reader started me down or maybe it's up the road to everything from yoga to meditation to studying at a monastery and driving myself bonkers and trying to change my entire family to becoming more spiritual. By the way don't try that,  it doesn't  work.  I have found that the best way to inspire others is thru the clarity of my own example.
